Some spooky sketchy blood-noodle-planes!
That concept of internal-organ-weapons that split and break their way out of their biomechanical shells is still one that I’ve been kicking around in the back of my head for a while (and like a lot,) so here are some creepy Machinengeister based around that. Character ideas.
Not meant to be based precisely on current planes, but there’s a lot of Flanker-series and B-1 in these.

The color choice was a more deliberate reference on this one however.
Good places to look are to always study reality - why aircraft are shaped the way they are - and then put your own flair on it. Lots of ways to take the concept! Aircraft blend with creatures well since there are similarities shape-wise between them and creatures like sharks, birds, etc.
Piloting a jet. just doing a basic recon of the area. On a sort of cloudy day. Then out of nowhere, a stark white jet flies up next to you. It has a strange, and unknown military symbols on it. You try to tell the pilot, "there in a restricted area. And, they need to land the plane". Then after a moment or two. you realize no ones in the plane. Then when you look under it and say, "Is that thing breathing?". As you see steam leak out the nose of the air craft in a basic rhythm.
You tell the plane just one more time, "To land it in the air strip immediately.". But the only rebuttal you get is a strange rumbling nose on the radio. Then Just like that the plane flies down slowly to the direction of the air field. And it pass into a cloud as it does.
Then after you think the cost is clear. A shadow is casted over your jet, and you hear an ear piercing screech on the radio. Then you look to see this beast above charging straight towards you like an Eagle, like a Demon from the most twisted nightmare.
Not an intentional reference, but also not a comparison that I was entirely unaware of either!
Shinji get in the fucking robot
I love how organic and alien they look. Also that tri-maw is terrifying.
brb gonna see if Petco has any in stock
I did one on the X-47B last year - not the same, but related I suppose?
