What a weird sea monster :V

Biomech sketches based on a Redoubtable-class SSBN, also specifically inspired after getting to see one in person :D

Sub biomechs look deceivingly organic since their basis form is quite simple, streamlined, and already arguably animal-like. The ones with anechoic “skin” look even more so since it disguises all the joints and seams and such. But they are fully mechanical underneath!

I gotta say it. I love these bio mechanical creatures!! Love  You do them so surprisingly organic! The way he swim and twist the body is incredible Clap Clap

Also, it look like he is wearing a hat what is cool :D (Big Grin)

Now that I think of it... are people actually able to uh, go inside things like this? Or ride ones like the motorcycle?

Those modified to be piloted/designed to transport humans can definitely be used that way. In fact, the fully "creature" types are the rare ones: normally the ones in use alongside humans have had their processors isolated and transplanted into a man-made, "non living" body. So no shape-shifty nonsense with those...unless the biomech part takes over. It happens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have one characters inspired by this submarine, but he is a submarine-drake. (a drake is a dragon without wings.) He is in my short story, "Searching."

As I was saying earlier, your mutant subs inform my decisions for my own mutant vehicles. Now I'm just trying to decide how "human" I want to make the limbs and the gait. More and more I'm thinking that smaller legs and longer arms (aka gorilla style) may be the way to go on planes and boats

I love the long arm idea, on the planes short bodies and long wing-arms makes sense (dependent on the vehicle type but even ones based on short winged jets might still have that proportion - I think of birds and how most of their mass is up in the chest area, for the lungs, large flight muscles, and overall to keep the CG more forward for flight.) Reminds me of TFP Soundwave too - I know you don't like that particular series but I love the design they came up with for that character.

Your Demis are much smaller than most of my creatures so they'd also look a lot more like they can walk around - this particular sub is semi-aquatic at most, they're quadrupedal but as a 8,000 ton biomechanical machine, that's a lot of mass to move around and would end up in a lot of wear and tear for not really much gain out on land. The limbs (and tail) are more used for being able to propel themselves more silently than by screw, and for underwater combat. (Even larger biomechs don't even bother to shape-shift at all since it takes way too much energy, so at most you'd see the vehicle form with the ability for selective active mutation.)

But your Demiships walk and swim, so even if they do have more of a gorilla shape, I'd imagine their mass is still more overall evenly distributed for buoyancy and for strength in the legs (they would use the legs while swimming, Demiplanes don't need their legs to fly at least from the designs I've seen from you.) Just kicking around thoughts! I'd love to see what you come up with especially the more unusually proportioned characters - there's so much one can do!
